Baghdad Dawn

I took some pictures of the city as we flew over earlier this month. I thought I'd share so you could see how things look from above.

We made some sharp turns and I was able to get a few decent shots of rooftops. Things to notice are the sleeping mats out on the roofs, where people sleep to avoid the heat in the summer, and the satellite dishes that are almost every roof now. I have an appreciation for the style of houses which are sometimes quite ornate, usually well-cared for when inhabited, and always enclosed.

So many houses, so few soldiers.

It kind of reminds me of Athens, only it looks A LOT more organized.
