Curse Ye, Blogger
*Note* While at the COP, I couldn't get anything to save, except comments. It's a few days later, but the post below is from the 13th.
I just spent an hour writing. And Blogger didn't bother to save the draft. It's three am. Here's the short version.
Things are going pretty well.
I commanded the company while the commander was on R&R leave. Good to be the King. Not going to stay in to take a command because the Wife can't take it anymore.
Went home on R&R in March. Flew from Kuwait to Bahrain to Germany on Gulf Air. Plane full of Arabs. Interesting.
Two weeks R&R. The Boy still likes me. The Wife really likes me. Didn't do anything. It was great. Went for walks and I did chores, but only changed one diaper. Don't feed your one-year-old sauerkraut.
Back to work in April. I've been a CPT wearing LT rank for approaching three months, now. Waiting to get pinned. Not too worried about it. (Getting paid.) The new XO had bumped himself into my job (and my room) when I got back, so I'm hiding at the COP. Not a bad life. I'll be going to Baghdad to be XO of another company in the near future and am shamming in the meantime.
Were recently debating whether I'd be redeployed by the All-Star Break or for the Pennant races. Following the SECDEF announcement yesterday, we're shooting for Christmas.
Please, for the Wife's sanity's sake, look into vacationing in Germay. Franconia in summer is gorgeous, the heart of the German wine region, and easy access to many wonderful European locations. Free lodging.
That's all for now. I'll try to do a better job of updates.
